Is this an option or standard on a Lariat 502A? When I hit the remote tailgate button on the remote yesterday at the dealer the tailgate dropped hard like it had no shocks. It was pretty cold outside and covered in snow, so figured it had something to do with that. Now I am thinking this was an option my truck does not have.

 

There is another thread in this forum you may want to search for. Sounds like your missing some hardware.

 

Specifically, there is a shock absorber that is located behind the right taillight that slows the travel of the tailgate. That was missing on another members truck.
