Default Dumb Tire Question

I am looking at my 2018 Platinum coming in on 7/1/18. I am looking at tires and was just curious. Can I put 285/65/20 BFG KO2 on the truck without rubbing or doing anything with leveling or suspension lifting or anything other than putting these tires on the factory 20 inch rim? If I have to mess with the suspension, I'll stick with the factory Hankook tires on it. Thanks!

That's a nearly 35" tire, so absolutely not. It will rub and throw your speedo off by 5mph at 60! There's no benefit to a tire like that on a stock truck. I went up 1 size on mine to 275/60-20 and it's perfect for a stock truck. Bigger would be too much.

So the 275/60/20 would be a tire for tire swap and not require any messing around with anything else? Thanks so much for the time and patience.

Yes ,I just did teh 275/60-20's on mine to replace the Hankooks and the extra height is noticeable, but doesn't negatively affect acceleration or economy (that I can tell, anyway, my fuel economy sucks regardless because I drive mostly very short trips). The Cooper Discoverer AT3's I went with are way nicer than the Hankooks. Better ride, better traction, better looks.

Speedo is off by 2mph.... I can accept and work with that. A speedo off by 5mph would get me a lot of tickets.

Well, you answered my question! I really appreciate it. If I can press my luck, and keep in mind, I am no tire guy, the difference between the 275/60/20 and the stock tire is what? Is a bit higher or wider? I notice the stock tire has the same 275 number. Just a bit confusing to me. Thanks again for the help.

275 = the width of the tire, so that won't be wider (for me I didn't want wider, because wider = more drag, even worse fuel economy, haha)
60 = sidewall height. It's actually a ratio of the width to the height, so a 285/60 is taller than a 275/60..... this also means a 275/60 is taller than a 275/55
20 = diameter of wheel
