So what is the difference between TOWING DTE and NORMAL DTE settings?

 

Engine uses more gas when towing, so Distance To Empty when towing will be much less. The computer calculates each setting differently .

 

From what I can figure the DTE while towing give you miles to empty based off the current average MPG's while the regular DTE calculates it based off previous trip averages.

 

DTE Towing uses the towing history.

 

How does one access the settings to toggle between trailer DTE and regular? Is it only when the trailer is connected that the DTE will adjust for Trailer DTE? Thanks.

 

Do you know if that trailer specific? I can define multiple trailers, and they will likely have very different impacts.

 

On some model years, it detects the trailer and prompts you to select a trailer, and then accumulates trailer mileage. On other model years, you have to go into the settings and change it once connected.

DTE won't adjust until you manually change it. And then change it back.

Not that I'm aware.
