Default DTC Code C0062

Hello all,

I have a DTC code for the longitudinal acceleration sensor and I am also getting hill start assist not available and service advance trac. The code points towards the RCM but I have had my airbag module reset. I have also replaced the throttle body and wheel speed sensors. I am rebuilding this truck that was in a front end collision and some wires have been pinched and re-spliced together. Could my problem possibly be that I need a new wiring harness?

Thanks

Did the bags/ pretensioners blow in the accident? If so you NEED a new RCM. no "reset" or clearing...you need a new RCM no way around it. The RCM fries itself anytime an SRS component is deployed

this is right out of the ford work shop manual
  1. When any deployable device or combination of devices have deployed and/or the RCM has DTC B1193:00 (event threshold exceeded) in memory, the repair of the vehicle SRS is to include the removal of all deployed devices and the installation of new deployable devices, the removal of all impact sensors and installation of new impact sensors and the removal and installation of a new RCM. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) must be cleared from all required modules after repairs are carried out.
also says this

  1.
    • Connect a diagnostic scan tool and view the BCM CRASH PID.
    • If the BCM CRASH PID is present and reads 'Yes', use the diagnostic scan tool to carry out the BCM Crash Status Reset under "Electrical - Service Functions".
    • If the BCM CRASH PID reads 'No' or is not present, complete any necessary repairs before returning the vehicle to the customer.

The drivers airbag blew and I already replaced that i tried a new airbag module but it was throwing codes so I think I might have been sent the wrong module. After getting my original reprogrammed it took care of the codes and airbag light. Maybe I'll look into crash sensors next.

no maybe...you need to get them..NEW ones. and i still say you need a new RCM from ford..not some "clearing" that does not work. That acceleration sensor is internal to the RCM, so if you are getting a code for that. You probably need a new RCM and have it programmed VIA a ford dealer. That is not plug and play
