Did not I read somewhere on this forum that a software update (TSB) to the BCM for something had CHANGED the DRL lights. The OP states in post #10 "Took my truck in for an oil change a few days later and a once over ". MAYBE he got a software update during the "once over". OP, does your Service Receipt say anything about a software update?

Nothing about a software update on the service receipt that I can tell.

Well actually there was a change in 2018 with the DRLs...in Canada anyway...
The park lights are on during day when the truck is placed into gear.

That update was for trucks with the LED halo DRLs, which are supposed to dim to reduce glare when the headlamps are on. Under some circumstances they weren't dimming. The TSB fixed that, and changed the parking and tail lights so they come on with the DRLs during the day. This only applied to trucks with LED headlamps as far as I know.
