Question Drivers Side Mirror Question

2016 XLT with heated side mirror, what i get at night is an odd looking drivers mirror, it has a greenish hue to it. I also see a 1/4" band around the perimeter of the mirror and have no idea why its there, it gives a blurry image when i glance into it, i have no idea why this is or what this is, does the mirror need replacing?? I have an auto dimming rear view mirror as well, it gives a greenish reflection when i look into it but it doesnt have any ring around it like the drivers side view mirror, is this something thats connected.

The drivers mirror (on some models) is auto dimming. It works based off the interior rear view mirror and dims when lighting conditions are right. The ring around it is normal. Mine is the same.

Yep, you got an auto dimming mirror the same as the rear view mirror. I love the feature.

Only thing that kills me is they don't have the same for the passenger side

Thanks for the replies, i honestly thought there was something wrong with the mirror, so its just the drivers then and not the passengers.

It's irritating the dimming doesn't go all the way accross as you get a flash of headlights in that area;so I used magic marker to coverup that strip .

You'll also find that the driver side mirror takes longer than the passenger side to defrost when using that function. It is due to the auto-dimming mirror, and is completely normal.
