Default Driver side front end grinding

I drive a 2015 Lariat 4wd with 54k miles on it . I recently started noticing a grinding sound on the driver side front end at slow speeds, intermittently . Today I flipped it in 4wd and it got 100* worse/louder and also happens at higher speeds. I can't seem to find anything that matches this when I search the forum . Can any one give me an idea what this might be and if it's covered under power train? Dealer told me it's typically only internally lubrixated parts, but I would think the entire 4wd system should be covered.

Sounds like your IWE is not engaging properly.
Do a search on the IWE system as theres a ton of topics on it.

It is covered under warranty - could be a vacuum leak, solenoid issue or just a lazy IWE.
The IWE is an internal part. My IWEs on my previous F150 were covered under the 5 year warranty.
