Default Driver door not unlocking when opened

Hello, I have searched and seen several variations of the AutoUNlock and AutoLock working or not working. My in dash menu only shows how to activate or deactivate the AutoUnlock feature. There appears to be no way to turn off AutoLock, even with programming (start button, push unlock 3 times, etc).
What is happening is when I put the truck in park and get out with the vehicle still running, the drivers door does not unlock. It remains locked. Then you shut the door and are now locked out of your vehicle. An example is if I drive 1/4 mile down to feed my animals and leave the truck running to either warm up or cool down (winter or summer) I am not going to leave the door open, but will leave it running. Is this how it is supposed to work??? I have had several fords and this has never happened. The drivers door has always unlocked when opened.
Any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks!

The unlock when the (interior) door handle is pulled is mechanical. It's not part of the power locks and isn't controlled by any programming/settings/electronics. Something inside your door is broken.

I would take the door apart and have a look around.

Something mechanical is broken in your door. My door unlocks when I open it to get out.

So none of the doors unlock when you open the driver's door?

Even if the interior door handle manually unlocks the door, as almost every Ford that I know have has done for the last 40 years, I think the power door lock steps in too. I don't have the interior handle full travel before I hear the door locks unlock, including the driver's side.

Thank you! I'll look into the linking. Any idea on how to get them not to lock automatically in the first place?

This function works as described. The truck will unlock ALL the doors when you turn off the ignition and then open the driver's door. This is annoying on it's own as you still have to turn off the truck to unlock all the doors. I can't imagine picking up kids from school with this setup. I'd still like to find a way to not have the doors lock automatically. Thank you!

I can't imagine being quite that helpless. Just toggle the door lock switch - voila! all the doors are unlocked. No need to turn off the truck.
