Default Driver Door chime

On my 2017 F150, I used to open the drivers door and there would be no chime. Recently it has started chiming anytime the door is opened. It is the same chime as if I have left my keys in the ignition. Kind of annoying. In a previous post, I read about this situation being caused by the headlight inadvertently been turned on. My lights are on auto. I tried having them turned off, but the chime still sounds as soon as the door opened. I glanced at a you tube where I guy was disarming chimes via a computer plugged into the truck - really hoping there is an easier way. Any tips will be appreciated - thanks.

Headlights were my first thought. next thought, when the battery gets low on charge, goofy unexplained electrical things can happen, seems module need a higher resting voltage. That and grounds would be my next thought. Maybe ignition switch? do you have many hanging keys on your fob?

Thanks for the suggestions. My battery is only a yr old, but I’ll check it. There are only two other keys hanging from my fob.

Do you use a key or is it push to start? If it's a key, when you get out and use the key fob to lock the doors it will lock and immediately unlock. Another check is to open the door and stick your key back in and pull it out quickly several times. If the chime stops, you've confirmed it's a mechanical sticking issue in the cylinder. Push to start would be an electrical\module issue.

May go ahead and check that driver door boot between the door and cab for any damaged wires in there. That door sees the most use so those wires in there can get damaged causing strange issues. Just throwing out another idear.

OP, just a few questions to help determine the cause.
  1. Do you have key or push button start?
  2. What option level is the truck?
  3. Any aftermarket electrical add-ons?
  4. Any DTC scans performed?
