Default Drive Train Slop

I have a '15 F150 3.5L Ecoboost with the 6 speed transmission. My issue is there seems to be some slop in my drive line. Particularly at highway speed, but sometimes at slow speeds as well, if you take your foot off the gas and then reengage, there is a clunk you can hear and feel in the drive line. My dealer has greased the slip yoke, and replaced the transfer case, but the clunk is still present. Anyone have any ideas? I'm wondering if it's in the transmission.

Mine has a little movement as well, only around town.

I have the same sound on my '16. It's like there is slop between engine braking and acceleration. My "thumps" occur most often between 45-55 mph. I'm wondering if it's pinion lash? Dealership told me it was "normal". This is my only compliant about my truck.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a resolution...

I get the same clunk. It's a single clunk that happens to me around town when I slow down at an intersection and then accelerate, like accelerating slowly through a rolling stop. I had the truck to the dealership and they say its a normal characteristic of the transmission, but I'm not buying the "normal" part, NOTHING normal about this clunk.
I called FORD customer service (1800 392 FORD) to report the problem and never got any response.

Yep, it sounds like everyone has the same issue. I bought the truck with 18k on it, and now I wonder if that is why someone traded it in. Like IBEinNC, it's my only complaint. My dealer has been working with me on it, but they tell me Ford claims it is normal. I do not believe a clunk in the drive line is normal for a modern era $55k truck, not to mention what will happen down the road. It has to get worse with age I would think.

Same clunk but with my ‘16 V8. I don’t think it’s an issue just an annoyance. I’ve learned to compensate for it by hesitating to accelerate sometimes since it seems to happen after I brake and slow down. Waiting a second or two stops the clunk from happening.

I do not experience this issue with my 2WD 5.0... is it a transfer case thing?

There is much more slop in the driveline of the 15+ over the previous gen. What is more annoying is the slop causes rollback(or forward) when in park and trying to attach a trailer. What is even MORE annoying is that it rolls even with the parking brake engaged.
