It goes straight to 6500 and 3rd gear
then picks up speed shifts to 6th at 80/85

while driving up a steep hill around 60 it may down shift to 5th
pick up speed to around 70 then shifts to 6th but I have to just ease the gas.

What is the "Red Line" for the 2.7?

Unless it's 6500 or you have a tune it sounds normal to me when the pedal is abruptly mashed to the floor (max).

Red zone starts at 6000
From Owners Manual
Forced Downshifts
  • Allowed in drive (D) with the tow/haul feature on or off.
  • Press the accelerator to the floor.
  • Allows transmission to select an appropriate gear
  • I guess the appropriate gear at 70 is 3rd Gear! And 6000 RPMs
