Wanted to give some feedback that I know many people have questions about so here it goes:
For those of you that don't want to read, downpipes and spd adapters make a huge difference and are well worth it!
With that out of the way I'll list my mods.
2015 lariat 3.5 Ecoboost.
93 performance tune by SSI (not here for a tune debate)
Aem drop in dry air filter and removed the silencer rings in Intake pipes
Ngk plugs gapped to .026
170* thermostat
Full race catch can
Full race 2000* ceramic coated catted downpipes
Spd turbo adapters.
(Intercooler on order)
Install:
Install process was not for the faint of heart. I got lucky and found a guy in NC with a shop and a lot of experience with the install that gave me a really fair price, but I wouldn't recommend the adapters without a lift, air impact tools, and a heavy duty torch. Overall took about 2 hours with 3 people, a lift, and a full mechanic shop of tools.
Results:
I was totally impressed with the performance gains that the combo of downpipes and adapters made to the top end of this motor. The engine used to feel like it was choking up above 3.5k rpms and now it's super smooth and pulls hard all the way to redline. It really feels like the motor is breathing easier and the truck pulls so much harder. The sound is awsome. With stock exhaust the turbo noise is much pronounced and it sounds perfect. It seems like the truck takes a hair longer to spool up but once boost comes in it's super smooth, hard to explain but it mellowed out the low end hit and really opened the power band up. I couldn't be more happy with the way it drives and sounds, and would 100% recommend upgrading both to anyone that was on the fence.
