Default Dorman Tee pipe

After almost 159K miles, I think it's time to replace my water pump. It's not leaking coolant, but it just started making some noise, and the shaft has some play. I ordered the Motorfraft water pump from Rock Auto, and also ordered the Dorman Tee pipe, which is described at "OE FIX":

Has anybody tried this Dorman Tee pipe?

Thanks!

Sure sounds better than Fords plastic crap. "This Dorman OE FIX replacement features an upgraded aluminum Y-connector to prevent similar failures in the future". If I had a 5.0, I'd 100% do it.

Is that a blanket statement on the brand or specific to their "OE Fix" line of products that improve on inadequate OE designs?

After shattering the ear off my OE race car diff with a hard launch, I bought the Dorman "OE Fix" diff cover that was designed thicker and with additional bracing and it has survived 7 years of hard abuse, much more than the OE unit could take.

Would I buy a Dorman cam position sensor? Of course not. But maybe you're not familiar with the OE Fix line.

If the OE part is poorly designed and breaks under normal use, it doesn't really matter how expensive it is.

I don't care what anyone says, Dorman does make some real solid pieces. As stated, yeah electrical components probably aren't the best thing to go with. As a general rule, OE is almost always best for those. But physical hard parts, Dorman makes good stuff

Dorman makes frame repair kits for the 11th Gen trucks and they are very nice. As was said above, certain hard parts are great. The transmission pan with a drain plug was a very worthy upgrade. Their electronics division isn't the best, though.

I bought a coolant flow through tank for my 98 Taurus back about 2005. Put it on and it leaked at the seam. That being said that T you show looks like it would be hard to screw up. I am open to trying other Dorman products they make. But it would depend on what it was. Once bitten, twice shy.........

If an OE part was not super expensive, I would probably lean towards it. If the OE part was super expensive, or not available. I would try the Dorman. Maybe with a resurgence in domestic manufacturing, we can start making more quality parts in the US....... I have a dream.......

Edit: If the Dorman part was an improvement over a bad OE design, I might try the Dorman as well.

Typically the o-rings are the culprit, but I would still try it especially at that price point.
