Door Lock Issue ....
I've had a strange issue with my drivers door the last week. I go out and unlock my door with wireless clicker. Then I reach in put the key in the ignition start the truck, make sure the defrost is on. Then I step away and slam the door, 'bump',,, I look back, the door did not click shut, again I slam the door 'bump'..it does not click shut. Bump Bump Bump...I try to shut it...then I reach in and push the lock/unlock button , lock/unlock...lock/unlock...on the door..click..click...it does beep or the horn toots..remember trucks key is in ignition , truck running, and I'm clicking the button on the inside of the door. Finally the door will shut and hold closed , once it was not locked,,,once it was shut and locked. I had to get my other set of keys to unlock the door.
If it happens again. I'm calling the dealer. Has anyone had this happen ?

Well the dealer is going to say they can't reproduce the problem if it doesn't show up, then what?
That's the problem with all the electrical glitches or gremlins as some people call them. They really happen, some are just aggravating and others are hazardous, either way makes no difference if the dealer can't see it. Why only because Ford won't pay them diagnostic labor time to look for a problem that's not obvious, in some cases pictures or video doesn't even make a difference, if the dealer busy.
The new F-150s have become computers on wheels with multiple software problems. Best thing REBOOT! Disconnect battery for 10 minutes, turn on head lights, turn off headlights, then reconnect battery.
Hopefully system reboots and software bugs disappear for a little while.
Honestly years ago computer manufacturers supported the products, I can remember taking to technical support for hours and hours on end, the manufacturer paid their technical support personnel. But not Ford, the customer is screwed if a reboot doesn't work.
Good luck?

We don't get paid to no fault found something, and if a customer has taken the time to bring their vehicle in for something like a door not latching, you have to give a tech more credit than you have. It's not a computer control issue it's mechanical and most likely a door latch concern, or a binding door handle cable concern, more likely the latter. And if it's a supercab there's a tsb. The dealer will be the best place for this concern

Thanks for your replys. Both times the problem has happened here at home. It would really stink if your at the gas station or grocery store or else where. Or the weather is really bad and the door won't latch.
