Default Door keypad entry

Hey all, happy thanksgiving!! I need some help... This is my first ford truck and after a few months owning, I'm trying to use the key pad to unlock my truck... I have the 2 factory codes that were in my owners manual... They don't work!? I have tried every way possible to enter... Waking it up first... Hitting side of button... Hitting center of button... Truck running... Truck off... Watched you tube videos.... I'm at a lose... It does work to lock my truck though, by hitting the 7.8-9.0 buttons at the same time... This feature is cool and I would love to use it... Please help... And if I'm being stupid please keep the flames to minimum because I'm a noob! Thanks in advance.

The first code will unlock the driver door only, and if you hit the 3/4 button after entering the code it will unlock the other doors.

All you need to do is enter the code. No need to wake anything up or have it running or anything.

My codes were not in the manual. They were attached to one of the keys, kind of like those stupid discount cards you see for Acme.

Ok, does this work right off the showroom floor or does something have to be set up? I have done it just like you explain... Still no luck... I have tried both codes... What could I be doing wrong???

It sounds to me like you are trying to use the key replacement code from the key tag instead of the keypad code. There should have been a plastic card about the size of a credit card with all your paperwork, it has the factory unlock code printed on it. Hope this helps :-)

Yes sir! Attached to my owners manual there is 2 credit card size cards in clear plastics slots that say keyless entry... Each card has a different code... I've tried both! Thanks, for the help... Maybe I'll have to take it to the dealer?

Lol, that sucks, someone at the dealer played pick up sticks with all their door cards and you lost! Maybe you could take both cards back to their lot and start testing all the trucks, if it works one one or two they might have your card instead. Of course, I'm sure they can look it up in their system easily ;-)

Worse case scenario, it is on the sticker on the computer.

Here's a link to another keypad thread...if you look a few posts down, you'll see my two links with instructions on how to get the factory code to pop up on your dash. Maybe give this a shot before you take it to the dealer? It actually came up with a different code than the one I had in my books!

There should only be one "hard code". That one is factory installed and can not be removed or changed. You can add personal codes.
