I have not seen a single post on this forum about abnormal wear of the interior door handles. Some people scratch the hell out of it with their keys, but no abnormal wear.

If it really bothers you, there are all sorts of covers on Amazon. I bought black walnut covers because my dog likes to put his claws all over the armrest and handle while blowing his nose out the window.

I have a 2019 Lariat. The paint on the interior door handle IS CRAP. It looked like I used chain mail gloves to shut it. No other surface inside the cab (steering wheel for example) shows ANY wear. Fortunately, the dealer replaced the interior door handle under warranty and the replacement is just fine.
The passenger side handle also is showing unusual wear and I will bring it up the next time I take it in.
So the criticism that this has never happened before is unwarranted. Keep your mind open and you may learn something from time to time.

It can happen but it's not a real common problem. I had 42K miles on my 2017 and no wear showing on my interior handles and my 2020 isn't showing any wear yet at 17K miles.
