I have a 2015 Ford F-150 and the rear passenger door will not open from the inside or outside. I managed to remove the interior door panel to access the mechanism that needs to be replace. Unfortunately, I realized the door needs to be open in order to do that; however, I am unable to open the door as the mechanism is broken and seized. I am wondering if there are any ways to get the door open considering my situation. I tried pulling on the lever circled in red, which usually would unlatch the door, to no avail. The plastic locking mechanism, circled in yellow, does not move at all and appears to be stuck in the locked position. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. The picture show was from a video online, not my vehicle.
There is a long range re-call to get these fixed for free. If you are not the original owner you may not have received the mailing. Check with your dealer. Tell them you have the door apart already as most techs apparently hate doing the re-call and you save them some work. See the sticky above - frozen door latch.
