Default Door Auto Unlock

I wish to have my doors & tailgate unlock when I go into park or cut engine. Seems like the Auto Unlock feature in Settings would do that. I checked it, however nothing happens. Any ideas?

I don't think I've ever unlocked anything when parking and turning the ignition off. Everything is unlocked/unlocks.

Try the auto unlock feature again.

The auto unlock will only work when you turn the engine off and open the door. Will not auto unlock when you put the vehicle in park, nor if you open the door before turning the engine off. Weird setup but that's the way Ford has it set and no way to change the behaviour.

Hmmm... then I have a warranty issue. I put in park, turn off ignition, open door. None of the locks or tailgate unlock.

Of course you set it in your settings to do that, right? By default it does NOT unlock the other doors. And they are separate options - autolock and autounlock.

Yep. Autounlock is checked. Autolock is unchecked currently. I've tried having both checked also.

If you go read your manual, you'll discover that autounlock will only work if autolock is enabled, and will only work IF you then drive more than 12mph and the doors autolock. Then, when you stop and turn the key off, and open the driver's door, all the doors should unlock. And they will autounlock anytime within 10 minutes of turning off the ignition.

Thanks for the helpful info.

I was focused on the autounlock feature which possibly has the same 12 MPH activation criteria as autolock, albeit undocumented. It does seem to work independently of autolock in my tests.
