Default Dogs in the back of SuperCrew

What does everyone use to protect the back of their SuperCrew from their dogs? Not a huge dog by any means - but a Jack Russell Terrier. Dog hair isn't a huge issue but still a concern as it gets everywhere.

My last truck had leather and it was a breeze, not sure on this sport cloth just yet. My bigger concern is the door - my dog has a habit of jumping up on the plastic of the door before I can get her out - any thoughts? Her nails can be sharp at times!

For the bench/seat, I use a "hammock" from 4Knines.com; works awesome. For the doors, I have a couple of door protectors made from a similar material, which have three tabs that slide down into the window sill, however, I don't insert the tabs into the window sill and opt to use velcro to take them on and off the doors. This means I have to keep a couple of 2-3" strips of velcro on the door sill, but for me, it's better than using the plastic tabs in the window because it stays on better and won't damage my windows when I need to put them down for the dog to get some air.

I don't have the brand of the door protectors readily available, but I'll have a look later and let you know. There's several brands available, though; just comes down to personal taste, really. Good luck!

I have resorted to flipping my seats up and using an old sheet to cover the floor. Give's the pup plenty of room to stretch out and keeps the fur contained... mostly. I also have the factory all weather mats which cover most of the carpet anyway in the back.

I have a "fancy" cover that is designed to work with most back seats that I use in my wife's sedan and my coupe but it tends to allow too much of the pup's fur to get behind it. Smaller issue when dealing with the leather seats in the cars and m previous truck but a no go with my black cloth on the truck.

The door thing I suspect will be an issue.I have noticed scratches on my front handle presumably from my wedding ring. My pup doesn't particularly like car rides so he tends to "shelter in place" until I open the door.

Edit: Door Stuff

After the above items, you may want one of these to keep the dog(s) in the back:

I've had one for numerous years. just hold it up with the elastic bungies (need a couple more than what they provide). It comes down easy and goes back up easy. Dod remaind in back.

Here is my setup I have a 4 inch bed and use blankets to cover it. I should have went for the extra large size which would have fit the entire back but went for large. I have long pillows that cover the back side hinges of the seats. I leave the seats up so they have extra room to move around.

I have a Doberman and just flip up both rear seats. Door panels are not an issue because he stand right in the middle and holds his head over the center console which I cover with a towel. Shedding is not bad but he gets brushed twice a day which helps (not only in my truck).

I bought an older Jeep to haul him around but we always use the F-150, more room and we both like it better.

ray318,

good looking pooches in your truck!

Don't see much discussion about using good quality safety harnesses for dogs. If a dog is not safely restrained, in an accident they can be seriously injured or killed.
