I had an '18 2.7 STX last week for a loaner, definitely felt 'jerkier' in slow traffic, like the trans couldn't decide on a gear between 1-3.

Tried it in Normal, Sport & Tow/Haul. All about the same.

Snow/Wet seems like it nearly disables the throttle, takes a lot of pedal input for any acceleration.

I get the 1st to 3rd lunge at times, other times a few downshifts or upshifts will be felt. For it being the first year, I can live with it. Some have no issues at all. These things will vary im sure. Ford should continue to tweak this transmission over time.

Mine always skips 2 under light throttle. If I accelerate a little more aggressively it will always use 2. To me it reads the throttle input perfectly. I generally see 1-3-5-6-7-8-9-10. I consider myself to be pretty picky and had high expectations for this transmission. At this I’m completely satisfied with everything except the startup rattle. As long as it continues to perform well I’m satisfied. To me the 1-3 lunge is not an issue.

I have the lunge when in parking lots when accelerating to about 10-15 mph. It is fine if you are continuing to accelerate to road speed but when you are just in a parking lot it's annoying and should just go to 2nd.

I never get a lunge in low speed/parking lot situations.

I too have noticed that 2nd gear might as well not even be there lol I don't think I've ever seen it hit 2nd gear - even in sport mode which I use often while in the city.

If i come to a stop pull the e-locker out and nail it it will shift to second and all the other gears if you're in the gas hard.In normal driving though usually 1-3-5 but sometimes 1-3-4-6!!!

Normal driving it skips gears. Sport mode, hard accel, tow/haul, very light driving, etc etc it'll use all.

In normal mode mine will almost always skip 2nd. If cold the tranny tend to hold the gears a little longer which will accentuate the lunge effect I found that remote starting the truck a few minutes when cold goes a long way shortening the transmission warm up period. Anyway that has never been a problem. In some instances such as in a parking lot I will instinctively switch to manual mode while in 1st or 3rd, depending on the speed I go while entering the area, then either stay in 1st or manually shift to 2nd. Both gear allow ample speed while providing engine brake when quick reaction time is required.

Sport mode will almost always use 2nd.

Nothing wrong with the 6 speed which I used to drive extensively at work but I must say I love my 10-speed better. Tight gaps while towing is fantastic.

SSM 46582 - 2017 F-150/Raptor - 10R80 Automatic Transmission - Customer Perception Of Missing Shifts - Normal Skip Shift Strategy

2017 F-150 and Raptor vehicles equipped with a 10R80 automatic transmission at times may exhibit skip gear upshifting and downshifting. Typical examples are 1-3 or 3-5 upshift or a 6-4 coasting downshift. This is a normal and desired behavior. For more detailed information about the 10R80 skip gear shift strategy refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01, Diagnosis and Testing, Road Testing Vehicle

Mine normally skips 2 and 4, but if I start out going up a hill it will sometimes shift 1-2-4-6-7-8-9-10. I am really amazed at how this transmission always seems to be in just the right gear. I have no complaints.
