Default does unplugging BMS sensor at battery disable auto start stop?

Seeing too many conflicting things online, looking for some solid answers. I don’t want the battery management system on, nor do I want to auto start stop on. Instead of clicking the button on the dash to turn auto start stop off I unplugged the BMS sensor at the battery per my last thread.

is it confirmed that it disables the BMS feature, and auto start stop feature? USB scan tool for forscan is on the way so I cant confirm yet.

It’s unplugged, but I still have to click the button for it to register that it’s off.

unless unplugging it DOES disable it, and the truck just can’t register it without the button being clicked?

The dash button status won't change when A-S-S is disabled when the BMS sensor is unplugged. Unplugging the BMS sensor reverts to traditional charging (voltage regulator/alternator) and A-S-S is prevented from activating. You can also select Sport mode on the shifter to disable A-S-S, but you have to do it every time you get in the truck. Or you can buy a disabler and install it. I don't have Forscan, but I believe I have seen on the forum that you can also disable it that way.

It will disable the auto start stop feature.............but it also screws up the remote start feature if you have it.

I ended up plugging it back in, and just doing the wire modification behind the button in the dash.

Seems like the wire mod behind the dash is the best bet. What brand did you go with? Any problems? Complications?

I just used a jumper wire between the 2 terminals (can't remember which ones).

I didn't want to make it "permanent", so I could remove it if needed.

No problems or complications at all.

Why would you want to disable the BMS?
