Default Does RainX affect auto wipers?

I just read a post on a RV forum that suggested that use of RainX can cause the auto windshield wipers to function incorrectly. I've never had this issue, but was curious if others have. Thoughts?

I've been using it for years and have never had a problem. Thing is, 95% of the time, I don't even need my wipers. If it's anything more than a light drizzle, and I'm going 30ish mph of faster, I don't even need to turn them on. Slow speeds, and light rain are the only times I even use my wipers anymore, and when I do, they still work just fine. I love Rain-X and put it on every vehicle I drive!

Not sure how ford handles it since mine does it have them

But my previous car was a BMW which did. I did notice when using rainx the wipers seemed to not track and adjust for when the rain started to get heavier. The BMW sensor was attached to the inside of the windshield, my uneducated guess was since the rainx cleared the area around the sensor so fast the car could not determine it needed to speed up the wipers.

I use the rain x wiper fluid - orange. With that I rarely use wipers.
I do not have mine set to auto either so this really does not answer your question.

MAYBE we just don't put Rain-X on the glass where the sensor is? Hmmmm

Those who say they use RainX. Is it the spray you apply on windshield? And how often do you have to apply? I applied into the spray but I’m needing to apply spray for sure

I used the original style Rain-X where you wipe it on and buff it off. In between applications I just use Rain-X washer fluid.

I've used RainX in all my cars for the last 20+ years... Never a problem with Wipers, except you do have to have good ones... (Crappy Wiper, Crappy Wipe).

Most of the time, I don't turn them on... I use RainX Wipers, and RainX Washer, and once every 2 or 3 years, hit the window with some RainX Wipes and buff it out.
