Default Do 2018's Have The Same Door Latch Issue?

I'm contemplating trading my 2015 lariat in on a 2018. I've had so many problems that its hard to even think about giving Ford any more money, but from what I'm reading most of my issues have been resolved.

The recall from Ford didn't work on my 2015. My door latches still get frozen up and the doors will not shut and the locks will not operate. Have they made any progress on this since the recall? I don't want to order a new truck if I'm going to be dealing with the same S***. My door panels are loose, rattly and creaky since they've been on and off so many times trying to fixes the latches.

Mine and the wife's have been fine so far. After all the horror stories I still can't believe that Ford is still having problems fixing the existing problems.

Yes they still have problem. The information is harder to come by but there are several examples on the forum of 2018 still failing. I have yet to see any new part numbers for failing parts. At one point I thought there were going to be new parts in the 2019 still unable to verify. It sounds like Ford is supposedly working on a better fix yet the details are top secret. If you are patient they do Buyback based on your States Lemon Law. You won’t do that more then once as it is the worst car buying experience you will ever have. Eventually they give new vehicle or all your $$ back. Worse part you will feel like you own an Expedition and not a truck while you wait.

I live in Manitoba Canada, I think all we have is arbitration where we have to take them to some sort of court.

Thanks for the idea, I'm going to call the arbitration office today.

ive had my 2018 for about 2 months now and so far so good except the tail gate froze the first time i washed it. I have severe OCD about washing my truck so it gets washed every other day and im in Alberta so its full on winter. Ever since the first time the tail gate froze i have been careful to not spray directly in the joints and it hasnt happened since the first time. Bull**** that this is even a concern years after the first problems

I made three calls today.

1. To Ford Canada to create a claim and ask them what they could do. They said there's nothing they can do if the recall did not fix the problem. They then told me to start an arbitration case.
2. Called the the Canada Vehicle Arbitration office and they said to start a claim. So I did online.
3. Called the dealership to let them know I wont be buying a new truck just quite yet and that I have started an arbitration case.

I had Ford Canada escalate my case to a supervisor, I told them if they're willing to give me the arbitration buy back amount on a trade in then I wont go through with the case. Waiting for a call back.

The only problem I realize now is that the new vehicle will most likely have the same problem. We have very wet and messy falls/spring times in Manitoba, moisture builds up in the doors so bad you can hear water sloshing around in them. The latches need to be completely sealed and water proof. Installing a rubber flap over the latch wont prevent moisture from condensation in the latch. It doesn't take a rocket engineer to figure that out.

Another update. Just got off the phone with Ford Service supervisor. She informed me that there is no fix for the door handles yet and that their engineers are working hard to come up with something. She said she's going to contact the dealership to see what they can work out for me.

My 2018 still has the same problems that my 2015 has as far as the door latches. I'm ready to jump to a GMC next time

I am shocked and somewhat suspicious about Ford trying to get the dealer to do something. They didn't give a crap when I was dealing with a lemon in 2010. They left it all to the dealer.
How much of a loss with the arb. Are you looking at.
I did look into that route but my truck at one year old wouldhave been a 15k hit.
