Default Distorted sound/echo with USB

So I just picked up a new 2018 the other day to replace my 2011. It's the same truck (Ingot Silver Screw XLT 4x4 with 3.5), but definitely an upgrade overall. I use an iPhone and have been loving Apple CarPlay...planning on installing a lightning cord into the console this week actually.

Anyway, I've been having a problem with the USB audio since I got it. Regardless of Apple or Anker charging cord or top/bottom USB port I have issues. The sound will be fine at first, clear and no delay. Sometimes after a few minutes and other times after 10-15 minutes, it will make a "pop" sound and the music becomes slightly delayed and has a popping/echo sound. It never fails, if I drive more than 15 minutes it will occur. All volume levels, audio settings and apps have this. If I unplug it and then plug it back in, it will go away for awhile. Also, no other issues with other audio sources including bluetooth.

Any ideas?
