Default Distance Push Button Start?

I was wondering how close does the key have to be for the push button start to work? Does it have to be actually inside the cabin? For example if the key was in the bed of the pickup would the push button start still work?

Inside the cabin area. I've had it in my backpack on the floor of the rear seat and it's fine.

If your thinking of hiding the keyfob somewhere in the bed and then walking away...so you don't have to carry it...prolly not a good idea...

Nothing like that. My wheelchair goes in the back with a lift. (So it would always leave the truck with me.) It would be nice if I could just leave the keys in the bag on the chair, but I am guessing that will not be an option.

I think you could leave the other spare key fob under the rear seat. That way you can leave one in the chair pouch, and when you leave the cab, just push the 78/90 buttons to lock the vehicle. I've not tried it though.

See if you can get someone to help you find out.

Put the chair in the bed as you would like usual, and try it. If it doesn't work, have someone get it out and see what would work.
