Default Disable NAV lockout hack?

I have a 2019 F150 with the B&O system Sync3. I have theory that if I can identify the wire that goes to the head unit (12v+ or 12v-) that tells the head unit that it is in park or not. Then I can put an external switch on that wire and bypass the lockout feature. I've installed a number of aftermarket head units and all of them have a "park" wire that connects to the parking brake output (usually ground) that tells the head unit that the vehicle's parking brake is on and all functions work. With all those systems I've installed I've simply connected that parking wire directly to ground so the head unit is always in full function. So my theory is that Sync3 has to have something similar. Unless the head unit senses movement and locks out at a certain speed? Just some thoughts here and hope folks who know more than me will give more insight into this.

I know I can disable the lockout feature via Forscan but that changes some wording to UK spelling and the speed limit sign to European signage, which is not a huge deal but if I could figure out the in "parked" wire that would be better.

There is no such wire. Everything in vehicle's is can bus these days and there are very few dedicated wires like you mentioned. 100 percent not there for SYNC3.

If you use ForScan and you have the Sync 3 version listed, you can enable "NAV in Motion."

Change APIM Addresss 7D0-02-01 5753 xxxx xxxx (don't mess with the numbers with the xxxx. Allows NAV in motion on Sync 3 v2.2-3.0, viewing text messages & Sirius Travel Link still works. ** 911 assist will be disabled with this enabled **
Speed limit sign will look European and FM radio stations will have and extra number like 102.70 instead of 102.7.

This changes the "country code" in the APIM.

I have Sync 2 in my 2015 F150, and this change works there too.

Go here and learn all about ForScan. Lots you can do: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/forsc...-truck-348987/

jm061 I was afraid of that, thank you for the reply, this saves me from pulling the head unit and testing a bunch of wires.

chief_bs, cool I can live with the slight variation in language and text. Also thank you for posting the Forscan address. Can't wait to make that change this weekend.
