Default Dim headlight

Hello. 18 flt here. Swapped out pathetic stock headlights a few times. First with silver stars, then SL1’s . One SL1 was bad and replaced. But before replacement I put silver stars back in, then out again when new SL1 arrived. Noticed now one light dim.hurredly a few times when disconnected I got frustrated and pulled on harness to disconnect . Plug seems ok, but maybe did something to wires inside housing? Seems too new of truck to have ground problem. If volts ok at plug what would happen if I ran aux. ground with maybe a “t” tap at plug. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated

I would start by checking the ground. Just because the truck is fairly new doesn't mean the ground was ever properly connected. I've had this exact same issue with other trucks I've worked on.

so I should look for wire to chassis coming from headlight harness?

in my experience, a dim headlight is almost always a bad ground.

Michael, the easiest way to find the right grounds will be with a wiring schematic.

According to the 2016 schematics I have, the grounds for the headlights are not far from the light themselves. Each light has its own ground. Should be real easy to find by tracing the wires. I'm sure they haven't changed the design of the headlight wiring since then.
