Default Difference in a 4A and 4H

From what I understand 4A is similar to an all wheel drive and 4 H is somewhat of a center diff locked ?
Eyeing lariat for purchase and thought I should ask here.

Thanks

4A is 2WD until wheel slippage is sensed and then it kicks into 4WD immediately. Nice for wet roads or when you may see patches of snow or ice. 4H is full time 4WD and isn't really recommended for dry pavement.
