Default Demo Pricing?

Any thoughts on what a reasonable price is for leasing a demo? It's a 2015 Lariat 502a stickered at $56,000 with about 5,000 miles. The "build date" on the sticker is May 2015 so it's probably been on the lot for 7-8 months. Is 20-23% off MSRP reasonable?

I don't think there's much lease cash right now so most of the discount would probably be from the dealer.

Well that'd be a pretty sweet deal, but I kinda doubt that they'd let a $56k truck go for $33,000. Even if it is a demo.

I got 23 percent off on a NEW 2015 XLT. Lariats have less rebates on them, but still on a demo I would want more than that or no deal.

I got 17% off mine and it had 20 miles on it. I wouldn't think that 20-23% would be out of the question with 5k miles on it.

I got 20% off of sticker on a BRAND NEW 2015 XLT Ecoboost 2.7 with 21 miles on it at delivery less than 2 weeks ago. If they won't come off sticker at least 30% with 5k miles on it, walk away.

I would say either get it for $41k (30% off sticker) or at least 20% off and some free extras like a no charge, included ESP 100k warranty etc.

Maybe you are right. I wonder what the kbb.com value is for it. At least then we would know what other used vehicles with the same options and mileage foes for.

Something to keep in mind is that you're not buying a new truck, no matter how much the dealership wants you to believe otherwise. You're leasing a used truck that was more than likely abused by every person to sit behind the wheel. Hard acceleration on cold starts, aggressive braking... all the things people do when they don't care about the vehicle they're currently sitting in.

20% off MSRP is a reasonable deal when buying a BRAND NEW truck with 0 miles on the clock. The truck you're looking at falls into neither category. Not only are you buying a used truck with thousands of miles on it already, but you don't get any value when your lease is up. Your money and your vehicle disappear. For that reason, anything less than 35-40% off MSRP is a waste of your time and money. Ask them what discount they'll give you, and don't counter with a number. Tell them they have to do better if they expect you to spend serious money on a used truck. After they respond with a crappy adjustment, tell them you value the car at $_____ and after that it's not worth it to you.

Stateside has Lariat's on Ford.com with about $10,000 in rebates for a '15 for purchase. That makes a brand new one at $46,000 with no mileage. So to ask for that truck for $40k isn't unreal, nor is it asking too much. If they won't do it, spend the extra $6k on a new one. It's not like the dealership would lose money as you get charged for depreciation in a lease and the dealership gets the truck back at the end of the lease if you decide not to keep it.
$1 a mile plus $1,000 for it potentially being beat to hell isn't unrealistic.

I just got a dealer demo last week. It was a 2016 XLT FX4 3.5L Crew Cab with the 302A, 3.55 gears, and the moonroof. It has right at about 1,100 miles on it. The sticker price was $53,180 and I was able to get it for $41,200 before taxes and fees. Hope that helps.
