In defense of the 2.7 ecoboost
#51
I knew when I was searching for a new truck that I wanted a Ecoboost. I test drove both the 2.7 and 3.5. Both very impressive. I chose the 2.7 for one reason. The way the engine was built made my decision. The Engine Block is cast from the same as the 6.7 Power Stroke. Also the 2.7 was built with Turbos in mind. The 3.5, turbos were a after thought. And my wife wanted the smaller engine because when we test drove the 3.5. I broke the wheels loose getting on the Interstate.. HA! Guess I fooled her..

Honestly what were hoping to accomplish? people would see your data.. praise you for it and switch engines? guess what? its not going to happen
this defense you have surmounted is like Marsha Clark and Chris Darden drawing up documents to convict OJ of murdering his ex wife

Turbos were not an afterthought on the 3.5 EcoBoost, don’t know why people say that. It’s not the 3.5 NA with turbos on it, the 3.5 ecoboost is a much more robust engine with better internals. Honestly you can’t go wrong between the 5.0L V8 & 3.5 EcoBoost IMO. Both great choices.

Interesting data about engine size. But I don't see any need to defend the 2.7. Had one, now have the 3.5. Would drive either one. 2.7 is a great engine.

Wait, what? You bought a truck because you liked the blue color? You didn't know about any of the options, or engines? I find it hard to believe someone sees a $30,000 car/truck on the lot and just goes and buys it not knowing what's beneath the hood?
