Default Dead battery after module install.

Dead battery after brake module install?

I just recently installed a trailer brake module. Everything seemed to go smoothly with forscan and the install.

However today I find my battery is completely dead..like..I can't even jump it dead.

Could I have missed something? Accidently hit something that would kill it?

Is this the original battery? Have noticed previously prolonged starting times prior to adding the trailer brake controller and the battery dying?

It is 4 ish years old and if you burned it to zero, you may be SOL. Had a 3 year old battery on my camper, accidentally drained it to zero and it was toast. I could charge it but it had a very short life

ya..something similar happened to another ford escape I had. Dealer had to replace the battery.

Kinda weird that it just happened to do this right after the install.

Did you resolve this issue? Read about another post with same issue and it was an aftermarket brake controller causing the drain, dead battery. He had it to the dealer twice and they couldn’t figure it out. Then someone on the forum asked, did you unplug the brake controller? Wallah it was the problem. That post convinced me to buy the OEM Ford brake controller.
