Question Daytime running lights position?

Ok sorry for what sounds like a silly/stupid question but here we go. When the light switch is off and the DRL option is on in the dash menu what is supposed to happen? #2. What lights are considered DRL’s...the low beams or your parking lights? I’ve done some of the FORSCAN stuff and have the Bambi feature working. I’d like to not touch the light switch and have some lights work if that is possible. Thanks in advance.
also I put switchbacks in but that shouldn’t matter
also again. When I start my truck and it’s idling the parking lights are on but when I put it gear they go out?

On a halogen headlight equipped truck, the low beam is the DRL and only comes on when the truck is in gear when the light switch is off.

Your parking lights should only be on when the truck has been remote-started, no lights should be on if it was started with the key or the push button start.

After you turn the option on in the menu you have to set the light switch to auto.
Only then the day time running will work.

Must be an American thing, here in Canada they're on all the time and you don't get a menu selection box unless you program it in Forscan.

#1. Nothing
#2. If the truck is running and you open the door, I'm pretty sure the parking lights come on. But the DRL's are the low beams running at a reduced wattage

I believe DRL's are mandatory in Canada ??

Wasn't sure if it was all of Canada, it is in Ontario for sure. I think all Canadian vehicles come with DRL enabled and cannot be switched off by the owner (unless you have Forscan).

Not sure it matters but I switched all of the halogens out to led’s. I guess I need to keep switch off and put in gear and see what’s on. Thanks guys

Correct. DRLs are not required in the U.S. but are optional, so U.S. market trucks have the menu item to turn them on or off.

Actually, with FORScan, the DRLs can be what you want them to be. On my 2013, I have the fog lights come on as DRLs. Because they are DRLs, they only illuminate when the truck is put into gear, when the truck is running and in Park, they are not on.

1) When the light switch is off and the engine is running, whatever light combination you have set up as DRLs will be on when the truck is in gear. When it's in Park, nothing will be on.
2) From the factory, the DRLs are just low beam headlamps, or the white LED halo for trucks that have it. There are some FORSCAN options that let you turn on other lights. Parking lamps do not normally come on with the DRLs, but they do come on along with the DRLs if you use remote start and the light switch is in Auto.
