While looking at the back of the truck today I noticed what appears to be a date stamp stamped into the sheet metal directly below the tailgate, right above the license plate area on the bumper.

My truck according to the sticker on the door was built 10/17, but the date stamp under the tailgate says 11/18.

Anyone know what this could be?

I did not. I just bought the truck last month.

 

Any accidents reported on it? Could be a replacement.

I checked mine. 09 29 18. My truck was built on September 30th.

 

According to car fax, there was a minor accident reported to right passenger side rear. I know the tire was replaced, but the bed didn't appear to be replaced.

I guess anything is possible though.
