Dashcam circuit question
I have a Viofo A129 Pro dashcam with the HK3 permanent wiring cable with Battery, Accessory and Ground wires to allow parking mode, and a GPS module. I have the Battery line tapped into fuse #26 (passenger door control module) and the Accessory line tapped into fuse #33 (radio) in the panel in the passenger footwell, based on what other members of the group reported they were using. The problem I'm finding, is that the camera never goes into parking mode, and seems to continue recording all the time as if the ignition is on. Two things ought to be triggering parking mode: either the lack of voltage to the Accessory line, or the GPS module recognizing that the vehicle hasn't moved for several minutes. I've read the instructions and done a search of threads but haven't run across this problem or the fix... just wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue.
Sounds like an issue with the camera and not the truck. You are correct, it should recognize the truck isn’t moving and switch to parking mode...my BlackVue takes 5 minutes I believe.
mine did it when I used the cigarette lighter for power and when I hardwired it

I had a similar issue with #26 & #33. For some reason, 33 didn't work and I had to use 36 instead and then it worked. See the end of this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/where...sh-cam-445159/

It's kinda difficult to determine which circuits to tap into these days, with an increasing number of circuits hot some or all of the time even when the ignition is off. I still don't understand why the GPS module doesn't trigger the camera to change modes, as it is supposed to with the latest firmware that I have installed, but I'm doing some research into that.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.

there are 2 parking modes on mine:
1. When the vehicle is running, my will enter parking mode after X amount of minutes
2. When the vehicle is off and unoccupied, my parking mode immediately kicks in
if you have an issue with 1, I would assume. Your settings or camera isn’t functioning correctly.
if you have an issue with 2, then I agree, you might need to rethink your fuses. Keep in mind, some fuses are powered on when you open the door, so checking fuses with the door open might be giving you a false reading.
I’ll see if I can find the post where I tapped into for mine, my 2017 and 2020 fuses were slightly different
I have that camera as well, and I have also generally had less than perfect experiences getting cameras hardwired for proper and desired parking mode function, as well as difficultly choosing how to setup parking mode to best suit me.
Consider plugging it into a 12V outlet, I used my center console outlet, and then carry one or two power banks in your truck. The 12V outlet will power up with the truck and then power down on a delay after shutdown (I think as long as 75 minutes if battery charge is good). Additionally you can simply swap the camera plug from the truck over to the power bank to continue full on recording that is completely independent of the truck's battery, that way you don't miss anything due to the various parking mode limitations. It's not a set it and forget it like the parking mode is, if you get parking mode all setup and wired right, but when it is set, it's superior to parking mode in that you aren't missing frames, etc, and even if your truck's battery is low and the camera gets shut off by the low voltage protection on your tap...well it won't because it's powered by the power bank.
These power banks can power these little dash cameras for so long, at least one forum member uses two of them in rotation to full time power his cameras (he drives a lot, for work IIRC) without ever relying on the truck's system for anything other than charging the power banks
