Default Dash Panel Replacement

I have a 2017 XLT SCREW. When I bought the vehicle, there was a scratch and a small nick in the top of the dash on the passenger side. Since I bought the vehicle out of state, I sent photos of the damage. Well, I had to bring the vehicle to the dealership that I purchased it from. They decided that they would replace the dash. From what I've read, to replace the dash panel is an undertaking. What I'm worried about, is the dashboard starting to squeak and making noise. Am I worrying too much about this? Should I just leave it alone and not get the dash panel replaced?

That a hard to say. When i purchased my 2015 Lariat back in May 2015 i never check my heater system. until November. i had not floor heat they changes several parts and it still was not fix then they told my the needed to pull the dash out and replace the entire a/c heater duct system. so i did not have a choice. when they reinstall the dash scratches were in the center of the dash. I told the service advisory they had to changed the whole dash again. when they replaced it yes a small slight rattle. sometimes you can hear sometimes. and it was hard to pin point. took it back to the dealership and guess what they scratches the dash again they replaced it still has the slight rattle but as time when on about a year it went away

Atlas, you have my luck!

OP, it's a tough decision. For me, it would depend on if I was being not-picky or if it was an obvious scratch on the dash.

DO it! Otherwise you will regret it looking at the scratches. They pulled the dash on my 13, no ill effects.

I replaced my XLT hard plastic dash board with a BINB Lariat and never looked back. Dealership techs, for the most part dont take their time nor do they care about your vehicle as much as you do...with this said, I was meticulous when I did this. I took my time, made sure the felt on the dash where it meets to windshield was in place, torqued all fasteners down per the online manual...and ensured everything fit back together not just forced it. If it wasnt fitting correctly, I tried again to get it t sit correct 1st! No queaks or rattles. I would notice because I applied sound deadening all over every square inch of the cab. Rides very quiet and squeak/rattle free. YES I was concerned that I would have a few that I would have to chase down. Moral, be meticulous if doing this yourself, if not and the dealership is, you are at their mercy of reassembly.

Thanks for all of the advice. I think I'm going to live with it. I'm looking for a good vinyl repair kit or a place that will do it. Thanks again.

my friend has a similar issue with his Raptor, it has a very small nick / puncture on the passenger side of the dash in the leather. I think he's just decided to live with it, I wouldn't really want them to pull the dash and risk them damaging something else personally.
