Default Damn Bugs

Took a road trip back to Indianapolis from Vegas last week and the bugs killed my grille. The chrome just peeled away as I washed it yesterday. I had sprayed the front many times with 2500psi to remove bugs and had no problem before but at 1500psi it just sprayed right off and most of the peeling was where bigger bugs had hit.
Ordered a new grill from American Trucks hopefully this one last a little longer.

Other than that everything ran fine averaged 18.4mpg running between 80-85mph most of the way. Noticed fewer gas stations that offer 93 octane and fewer with pure gas. Used to be able to go from Chicago to just before Denver on 93 and had an ample amount of options for E-0, not anymore.

Interesting hit my chrome grill with a power wash yesterday to do the same thing get bugs off. Didn't strip the chrome though. What is under the chrome? Can you just scuff it up and spray bomb it to match your paint color?

It's just white PVC.
Not worth my time and effort to sand and paint it. New grill was only $162.

I think 2500 psi is too high for a chrome clad plastic grill. Not 100% but I know that high PSI totally destroys a deck.

That's the thing I had used 2500 many times before and this time it was only 1500. The first I noticed the peeling was after an automatic car wash back in Indiana and oddly enough that spot didn't peel anymore yesterday.

I use these on my paint, chrome and windshield. They don't scratch.

Also, if the bugs are tough coming off, spray them with a 50/50 mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and it will soften them up and they should easily come off.

A good coat of wax will keep the bugs from sticking like that, the Collonite 845 wax I use helps the bugs wipe right off, no pressure washer needed ever.
