Damage at dealer
How many folks have had their F150 damaged at the dealer? Had my first service for my 2016 red F150 and they put a 4 inch scratch in the door. The good news is they told me right away that they accidentally damaged the door and will repair it (loaner car included during the repair). I have had my other 2 vehicles damaged at a dealer in the last 3 months ( a Lexus IS 350 and BMW M4) and neither one of them told me about the damage until I noticed it (luxury dealers are evil in my opinion). My wife said we should have someone else drop cars off at dealers in the future as we are jinxed.
Several years ago I had my '98 expedition at the dealer for a warranty repair for the heater core which requires removing the dash. The tech destroyed my interior. I had pillar gauges, a car phone( this was before smart phones), brake controller, and a radar detector. Nothing worked when I received the truck back but he didn't just disconnect stuff. He actually cut some wires, the cell phone kit had a screw going through the wire. Squeaks and rattles all over, scratches in the dash, grease stains on the headliner and carpet. This truck was mint when it went in. I was beyond furious. Long story short the dealer ended up firing the tech. They had their "interior specialist" fix all the interior issues and gave me $2500 for the accessories and another $1500 for my agrivation.
My dealer put a couple of deep scratches on my Ruby Red when it was three days old. They fixed them, and gave me a service package to make things right.
I've started doing a walk-around with my cell phone camera in the dealer/service provider's lot, video taping the condition of my truck before they touch it.

My dealer got bedliner overspray on a good portion of the roof and rear door of m brand new SCAB. Had to wet sand to remove. Paint looks perfect now, but it was just careless of them not to cover it properly. I got a 3 year service contract as an apology.

It happens. Coming from the other side of the fence, work at a shop long enough, and you will damage something. Just a matter of time.
It's all about how it's handled. In my experience most(if not all) customers are cool(although understandably frustrated) as long as you are up front and honest with them. Be glad they were and are doing something to compensate. Unfortunately many dealers/shops do not.
The door swings both ways as well. I could write a book.
I painted an 08 f150 at the last dealer I as at. Yz Oxford white, paint the boxside. Well the only booth open for paint was the smaller booth. In order to get a truck in there you needed to fold both mirrors in. 1 mirror was already smashed, as it was held together with packing tape. I go to fold it in, and the glass pops out, and shattered on the ground. We called the customer right away. And asked about it. He acknowledged it was already broken, and was planning on asking about buying a new one when he came to pick it up. He didn't understand why we were calling about it, as it had nothing to do with the repair. My manager said, "well, my painter folded it in to get into the spray booth, and the glass came out and completely broke."
He lost it, and wanted a free mirror. We met in the middle. I took a hit in my paycheck to appease the guy, as I paid for 1/2. Many may disagree, but I thought that was a little unreasonable, considering he was already planning on getting a new one.
