Default Custom Offsets TPMS

Just ordered my new wheel and tire set up thru custom offsets and they sent me a email strongly encouraging that I buy their TPMS sensors for $179. They't are saying OEM sensors wont work well thru the "thick" sidewalls of the tires. I just planned on ordering another set of OEM sensors and throwing them in.

Anyone have issues with OEM Sensors or are those sensors worth it?

I’m not sure what the tire sidewall has to do with anything. The sensors are mounted to the valve stems. The valve stems are below the bead seating surface, nowhere near the sidewall. Valve stems are standard sizes so they can’t make the wheel thicker where the stem goes or they would need custom stems. I don’t see any logical way that you couldn’t use oem sensors.

OMG Total BS... I'd be pissed for someone basically lying to me. Even the cheap ones from ebay will work just fine.

I switched my OEM sensors over to my new wheels and they've worked perfectly for 35k so far.
