quick question on carplay--I have it all enabled, hook up my iphone USB and carplay pulls up like it should--Then Ill go and disable carplay through the ford settings so get my regular screen back--here is the issue, when I go back an enable carplay it will not pull back up I have to disconnect from USB and reconnect, Or Im I missing something to get that back?
It will be nice when Apple or ford fix this 11.2.5 (iphone issue) so we can get our Apps back and ford pass--

That is exactly how mine works so I assumed it was normal. Carplay will not pickup the phone unless I disconnect and reconnect the cable.

Other forum members and posters on Apple's forum have said that the issue is fixed in iOS 11.3 public beta version. Hopefully it will remain fixed when this version is pushed out (in the spring according to Apple).

Carplay is a good first step but still much more limiting than simply mirroring the phone screen that would allow any app to play.
I installed Rostra Cameras (From Camera Source), it came with an HDMI Hookup. iPhone via HDMI to Sync3 screen.
It displays Landscape or Portrait.
Although I can see any app running on my SYNC 3 2.3 Screen that is on the cell phone while driving, I don't use that feature for intertainment...I've only used it for Google Maps. I did test Youtube Videos, cool but too dangerous of a distraction. I took a pic of the screen which shows the phone taking the pic.
looks pricey...but definitely cool you can mirror the iOS screen for any app

Yes, very pricey. I wanted the front and side Cameras for my XLT that was not an option I could order. The HDMI was sort of a bonus that I really don't care about.
FYI... If you update your iPhone to iOS 11.2.5 you will lose some Sync 3 functionality until Apple fixes their mistakes.

4D Tech now has PnP harnesses available for anyone who wants to install Sync 3 in 2013 and 2014 F150s which currently have 4" screens.
Yikes, $300 for a harness. I felt bad charging half of that for the few I made for folks, especially since you can build your own for less than $100. Gotta pay to play I guess!
