Default Curb Weight, empty, from industrial scale today 5060

Weighing in at 5060lbs according to industrial truck scale near me. This includes about 20 gallons of gas at 6.183lbs per gallon.

So total curb weight of: 4936lbs for my 2016, 4x4 Screw, XLT 302a, 3.5L TT, 5.5 bed, empty.

(and yes I'm sure the scale is not 100% to the pound accurate.)

So what's your GVWR and Payload rating per the door sticker?

Hmm. Pretty cool.

Never weighed with just my truck. There's a place where I used to go and pick up asfalt but there was always a trailer hook up so never knew the true of just the truck.

Stickers say:
GVWR = 7000lbs
Usable load is 1838lbs

7000 - 5060 - 20 (to top off an assumed 23Gal tank) = 1920#

So your payload sticker is about 80# on the conservative side? That's actually surprisingly accurate.

Good point, I hadn't calculated that. (just added in OP I have 3.5TT.) Check this out... So I have a 36 gallon tank, figure I could add 16 more gallons ~98lbs to your equation. Not sure where Ford factors that in, but if we do the same calc again:

7000-5060 = 1920, then deduct 98lbs more and we get 1821. That's super close to the 1838lbs on the door sticker!

Considering scale inaccuracies, and my estimating how many gallons were in the tank, might be right on the money!

I wondered about the tank size.

But IIRC they only factor a half-tank on the 36gal. BUT I could be mistaken, I can't remember where I read that.

If you see it, let us know, I don't know how they factor this all together.

Interesting thread. Here's my 2-cents: to register my AZ truck in CA, I had to get it weighed.

It tipped the scales at 4810 lbs.

My truck is a 2015 2.7L 4x4 Supercab XL with the 6.5' bed. IIRC, my gas tank was at about 3/4
