Creaking / Clacking sound
Hello guys,
2015 F150, SCREW, 4x4
So on the way home yesterday I noticed my truck started making a loud creaking and clacking sound coming from the passenger front wheel. It is snowy where I live so I was putting it in and out of 4H and 2H, and by the time I got home I turned down the beats and listened closely.
1. It will make the noise if I hit any bumps while going straight
2. It gets louder / worse if I turn right
3. Almost goes away if I turn left
4. Doesn't matter if in 2H, 4H, or 4L
So I brought it into the garage, lifted it up, and in park (2H) if I rotated the tire I could hear a faint clicking noise. The CV axle was rotating, and the front drive shaft was also rotating. I called the dealer and they said they will look at it Tuesday morning. I am curious what you all think this could be. Should I be getting it towed to the dealer? 15km away
