What kind of Honda are we talking about here? I'm finding it hard to believe that any Honda (short of a Honda delivery truck) would pose a serious threat to a substantial pickup truck like an F150. Barring any collision/roll-over caused by the driver of the truck making an error, I would think such interactions would be consistently more emotional than physical.

Still, I can certainly understand the emotional effect of a high-speed accident. Even when you're prepared for such things (like when auto racing) it still rattles your senses. For some reason these things just take time to wear off.

The most important thing is that you're safe, and that you've assisted (even if only unintentionally) in removing another Honda from the roads.

As for the damage, keep probing around. Someone will fix it. From what you showed in your pics, the truck doesn't seem un-driveable, right? That's good. At least you can move it and aren't stuck with a lump of dead metal.

For the damage value, just keep really good records of EVERYTHING. If there's frame damage that's one thing, but body repairs don't effect the capability, safety or functionality of the vehicle, and you can argue that to a point. If there IS frame damage, knowing exactly how much, and what method is being used to fix it, goes a long way also. For example, a simple low-stress twist to a frame extension isn't as severe as having to chop-n-splice frame parts.

But hey, if you can tweak the other person's insurance into getting you a new truck, go for it. It's not like Ford's not making more, and unless you're bonded to that vehicle it shouldn't be any baggage.

Good luck! Be safe in that little run-about, lol!

I had an accident in my new F150 see my thread about damaged f150.do not want to go into the accident, I just want to say this, I understand how you feel about a new bed. I told my adjustors I would not accept anything less than new replacement parts from ford. They did not refuse. Stand your ground. As far as the damage. I went by the body shop today to check on the progress on my truck. The guys at the shop saved the old parts for me like I ask them to . I was amazed how thin and light the parts are. The fender is so light and thin I could bend pieces of it with my thumb, and I bet it barely weighs a pound. The hood I could pick it up with one hand. even with the F150 emblem still on the fender I doubt it weighs much over a pound, amazing to me. I doubt the hood weighs over 20 pounds. I thought the aluminum would be thicker. I have no comparison to steel parts since this is the first accident I have been involved in, in almost 30 years. I am a metal worker and with out putting a set of calipers on it it looked to be about 20 to 22 gauge material. I am going to take the fender back to the shop when I pick up my truck just to see. I will let you guys know. It will be.later next week.

My shop ay the dealership had no problems getting parts. Took the truck in on Friday had parts by Tuesday. It may be the parts he needs. Bed panels, who knows. Then it could be the body shop not wanting to buy the expensive aluminum panels so they can make more money. You never know this day and age.

Was a 2001 Civic ! Definitely eliminated as both front wheels were at the windshield position perfectly square. My appraiser said I shouldn't have been driving it as the very sharp edges could do a nasty cut to anybody walking by closely let alone me swiping a pedestrian that shouldn't be walking that close to me...lol. I told the ins.co. to act asap but they didn't!
I am certainly NOT bonded to the vehicle as this happened 2 weeks after delivery... I really want to dump this truck asap also. Gave me the feeling that I was a target while I was driving it after the incident.
Still no ETA for parts update.

Maybe get the list of parts needed and call other collision shops to confirm the issue?

Why would you think driving a new truck would make you a target?

Because I have had to dodge (pun) other cars and transport trucks from running into me for example a car decides to make a right hand turn from the left turn lane 4 lanes over and visa versa, transport trucks weaving out of their lanes while I am passing them. Transport truck decides to change into my lane while I am passing him. Leaning on my horn 4 times while on-route to my destination. Just totally spooked driving looking out for idiot that could hit me (close calls) and I driving normally also.
Now while driving rental car.... driving incidents have petered out.
Was it me still spooked from the accident or just many more idiots on the road "everywhere"?
BTW... I am driving a rental Venza.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

If you're nervous about this particular truck being accident prone, you can try to work with the dealer to get into something else. This might go over more smoothly if they also were leading the repairs. That way they're in full control of the asset. But either way you look at it, you're going to lose out as they're going to give you weak trade in value (after all it's a used damaged truck) that they probably won't even be able to sell on their lot. If it were me, I'd keep driving it the way it is. Not significant enough damage to keep it off the road until the replacement parts are available. If you have some weird 6th sense issue with this particular truck, take it as an opportunity to upgrade to something better at whatever cost is necessary to get you out of this cursed truck. Superduty?

Remember that the truck was only "2 weeks old" (April 03)when this happened!... and 100% not at my fault!!!!! ... and screwed our 1st day of vacation!

Unfortunately the insurance people said I should not be driving it due to the sharp edges protruding that could cause significant injury to anybody walking too close to the side of the truck, almost it could scallop your leg. Let alone the bumper pulled out almost a foot.

The dealer can't do anything until it is repaired and salable. They are prepared to to make a deal favorable to me, but need my truck fixed.

The latest update on BODY parts for my truck is NO PARTS AVAILABLE with NO ETA since there are no spare parts in the making.

The insurance guy tells me another 2015 F-150 truck has been held up for repairs for "6 MONTHS" for no suspension parts available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF.... suspension parts????
So I am driving a Toyota Venza, but getting tired of it! No gutz. No room.

I want a new truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
