Default Cowl warp

Had an issue w/ the driver side cowl vent on my 2016. Took it to the dealer and showed them and they ordered a new one. Went back a few days later to have it installed and while i was waiting I checked the lot to see if any other trucks had this issue. Looked at approx. 40 trucks and at least a dozen had this issue. All on the drive side. Went back inside to pick up the truck and was surprised the new one looked almost as bad. I told the service writer "if they actually replaced it they wasted their time and mine". He went inside and brought the old part out to show me it was changed. He ordered another new one and I left. Got home and started messing with the cowl. Smacked it a couple times w/the edge of my fist (thought what could it hurt i have a new one coming anyway). It went down flush with windshield like it should have been. Not sure if it was not snapped in place correctly or I bent a bracket a little. Either way it looks perfect and that is all that matters to me. Probably could fix all of the ones on the lot. The one they took off probably just need a little "adjustment" to. Called the dealer and canceled the new one. On a sad note I noticed the dreaded dash warp when looking at the cowl.Cowl warp-img_2921.jpg

That's not a warp.

I had the same issue, under that cowl there are locking pins. looks like one of them popped-up/got separated from the base. Easy fix.

I have this exact problem on my 15 4x4 screw. How do I access these locking pins?

Yeah - I was gonna suggest that it's just not installed correctly/completely. But I would have thought there is a continuous ridge on the underside of the plastic piece that inserts into a full-width groove in the rubber at the base of the windscreen(?) I have seen that system on Edge's, but not sure if it's on the F-series.

Mine looks like that as well. Could someone point out where to hit the part to get it to seat properly? I'm all for a "smack it till it fits" approach but would rather be somewhat targeted with my application.

See if this helps. I removed mine to paint and the clips in the middle towards the windshield come off and stay on the truck. They have to be removed from the truck and clipped back onto the cowl. So you would have to take it off first.
