Default Couldn't shift into Park

2016 with 5.0. I drove about a mile in a heavy slush. It was probably 3-4" deep. Stopped for gas and couldn't get the gear selector to go into Park. I could get it into every other gear. Drove home with no problems and still wouldn't go into Park. I worked the lever back and forth through all the other gears rather aggressively and finally it went into Park, but the indicator wouldn't go into Park. After working it through the gears a few more times including park, the indicator finally popped over to park. I took it for a test drive and it seems fine. I'm sure some snow and slush got in around the linkage somewhere. I'm just surprised that it happened. Ever happened to anyone else? This was the first time I really drove the truck in snow.

Does your vehicle qualify for the transmission linkage/parking pawl recall?

Disregard

that recall was on 2017s with the 10-speed transmission

The short drive didn't help. I'm sure the heat from the transmission normally keeps ice from forming but it didn't get hot on a short 1 mile drive. I bet a longer drive would've helped.
