SO LAME that it is now a "fan" and the part that bothers me the most is I literally offered to let Ford just take my design files and have at it to fix all of the cooled seats. Even future ones. Heck I didn't even ask for a dime!

Yeh.... we tried our best but I guess the NIH (Not Invented Here) Syndrome played a role!!??

I have NOT seen a definitive comparison between the pre-2015 "cooling seats" (that functioned optimally), the optimized (via Tim's kit) 2015-2017 versions and the 2018 "ventilated" versions.... does anyone have a good objective comparison to share with us.... just curious how each of them stack up.....I have ventilated seats in my C7 'Vette and they don't blow my socks off cooling-wise..... Yea SeatGuru... it just shows, that in fact, Ford really is not all that interested in making them right. They just want to simply make the truck as cheaply as possible, while moving them as fast, and profitably as they can. Ford obviously and clearly doesn't think the cooled seats is worth the effort.

Lets face it.. Ford probably would still move as many truck, even if they removed the seat coolers completely.

Up until I bought my lariat, back in April, I never had a cooled seat. You don' know that you will miss it, if you never had it.

What are operating temperatures we should be seeing for a normal working seat. I’m getting 80 for seat cushion on full blast and mid 80’s on seat back. I’m using a temperature gun.

Depends on the cab temperature.. I would say a 15 degree drop would be in the ballpark..

Thanks. If someone could post TSB link that would be awesome. I'm taking my truck in for a few things and if I can show them TSB that would help my case.

Ahhh! I just purchased a 2018 Lariat (but don't have possession yet), one of the big drivers of choosing the lariat over the XLT was I was under the impression the seats were both heated AND cooled.

I'm not reading this whole thread, but it sounds as if the truck will really only have a fan to blow air around and no cooling effect? What a crock, blowing ambient air through a seat is pointless!

So no cooling, and no easy/ practical mods to make it cool?!

If you set the Temp in the truck to 70 degrees that sounds pretty cool to me. It just takes awhile to get there that's all. I have the actively cooled seats in my 2016 with the seat guru kits in them and it still takes awhile to cool them down. All the active seat cooling is doing, is taken ambient air and making it cooler quicker.

I have one of the first kits Tim made for my 2015 Platinum. I have cooling in seat cushions and back of seat that work great. Things that I have noticed that can make a difference. First thing if you do not inflate the bladders for comfort there does seem to be more air movement over inflating them especially on the back. Second thing is I noticed the seats not cooling as well one day and looked around and found the problem. My exhaust hose was not as long as I would have liked and the carpet flap that folds under the bottom of the seat was right up against the exhaust hose blocking air flow. Folded the carpet out of the way and the seats went back to cooling I was use to with Tim’s kit. Temp was 93 yesterday and had cooling top and bottom that was actually cold enough for me to turn it down to second setting. Can’t thank Tim enough for making this kit to fix our seats.
