LOL... all this time and still the dealership folks don't have a CLUE about the 2015-17 "Cooling Seats"..... what a joke. They might put the TSB on ( if it was not already installed from the factory)..... but all that will really do is somewhat improve seatback cooling and eliminate the extreme hot spot that would develop after 15-20 mins of operation.... a half measure at best.

Let us know what your satisfaction level is after they do whatever they do.....smile.... AZPLAT

ATPLAT: Well... Service Advisor called me last night with an Update... Stated the Tech could find nothing wrong with my seat coolers.. (now THAT is really FUNNY!) Stated there were no codes, and it is operating within normal parameters!

So... I suppose Not putting out any cool air, and heating the back of the seat to near melting temps, is "normal parameters".

Looks like I'll be fixing this one myself. Yes.. you are correct, they don't have a clue about the seats.

OH...and the Tech, did not find any TSB' on the cooling seats for a 16'.

(They did replace my flaking running boards, and are now repairing the broken glass in the Pano Sunroof. ($2600 worth of repair.)

wizard how the hell did you get them to repair broken glass in the Pano Sunroof & what is flaking running boards???! I had an issue with mine where the thing was leaking into my cabin from some sort of drain hoses! Ford said its the owners responsibility to make sure drain hoses are not clogged and clear of debris?!! Who the hell builds drain tubes for a giant pano roof that can clog after a year of owning the truck?!

Did they verify that you at least have the "TSB" level of TED..... ie....intake sock...... if not, the TSB should at least be something they should do..... what year and Mfg. date is your vehicle..... are you the original purchaser!?..... AZPLAT

AZPLAT: The Advisor made no mention of TSB, except to state that none were found for my truck. (Sock was a TSB for 15's).

I am not the original owner... Truck was a 2 year rental (I was told). Truck was built 10/12/15 and first went into service on 04/21/16, I picked it up 04/11/16.

I have not opened the seat back, so I do not know if it has a sock... but I pretty much get nothing from the back of the seat, other then fan noise, when I activate the cooler - and then eventually the back of the seat gets VERY hot.

Pete504: A rock hit the center of the back panel, putting a substantial crack in it... Insurance is covering it under comprehensive. It was not free, I have a $500 deductible to pay.

Is this little honeycomb white thing sticking out of the bottom of your seat? If so, it has the sock. It looks like a white gym sock, that's why it's called the sock.

This is Ford's TSB or service fix for this issue for 2015 trucks. The fix doesn't do the job very well either.

LOL... Yup.. that certainly looks like a sock!

Oh.. and I miss typed... I got my Silvie April of 18... not 16... I don't think the leaser had anything fixed while he drove it, as she needed several things done all at once when I picked her up. Luckily, he only drove it 16k miles.

Can I see the sock just by looking under the seat? I'll look at it Thursday, when I get her back.

I have to look for one of those kits... My initial clicking of "Order Here" was blocked by my firewall (site in Israel.)

2016Limited... Thanks... I have been reading this thread from the start... I am now around page 430... A few pages back, I just now saw the photograph someone posted showing the bit of white under the seat, above but to one side of the floor vent... I'll look when I get my truck back.

I also notice, in that photo, the carpet around floor vent was trimmed off nicely - - the carpet around my floor vent, looks like someone cut it with a piece of flint rock, and I was thinking about trimming it out with some black duck tape.
