I guess one positive with this issue is in the Winter if I accidentally push the cooled seats instead of the heated seat button I'll get the same effect. Hot back.

THE KEY WORDS ARE IN BOLD! Which does not mean the full back, hence why the upper part is hot! to cool the lumbar only!
I know that, and thats SPECIFICALLY where I feel it being the warmest.

I know the air doesn't come out of the top, near the shoulders, but it doesn't come out WHERE IT SHOULD, in the lower back, exactly where it doesn't cool at all.

Yet Ford says nothing was wrong with mine.

Yea mine works it's not perfect and I took a IR gun and checked in my hot garage ran the truck for a few with the seat AC on. Yes the seat dropped faster and more deg than the lumbar area, but the lumber area did also drop. So there is cold air there.

My buddy just bought a 2015 F250 Lariat and the same thing. Cools the lumbar area but just not as much as the seat.

This is not a big enough issue for me to complain to my dealer. I will keep watching this thread and if and when they come up with something I may take it in and let them at it and reading in here it would probably be a big waist of time to bring it up to the dealer. I have too many hobbies to do when I am home than go play at the dealer. LOL

Okay... Sit down and buckle up cuz you're going to want to jump out of your seat...

Palm Springs Ford had their 2nd "interior specialist" look at both the cooling function of the front seats and the stuck inflated seat bladder.

First they told me the seat backs don't cool. Now they tell me they work fine and they even took a laser temp meter and measured a drop in temperature from the seat bottom AND seat back. Said there's nothing more to do because they work fine.

As far as the inflated air bladder for the driver's seat left butt cheek they insist that the massaging function is done by rollers in the seat bottom and back. I told them that's absurd and they need to have someone else look at it. Service advisor just called me back and said the shop foreman says the back of the seat is air bladders and the seat bottom is in fact rollers.

When I pick up the truck in a couple hours I plan on speaking with the shop foreman so he can show me these "rollers". That should be interesting.

I cannot under any circumstances recommend the Palm Springs Ford service department.

Dealer just called and told me Ford said it was normal for the seat back to not cool. This is even with it being escalated.

Both seat backs don't cool at all in mine. Dealer even verified it but Ford said that it's normal. It's been at the dealership since last Thursday for this and some other things.

That is infuriating.

I've noticed that they cool when it is cool outside (morning), but heat up when it is hot outside (afternoon). What good is that!

Freaking $50k - $60k trucks with broke seats...My 2012 didn't have these problems.

The lack of consistent information from dealers combined with the widespread nature of the issue shows there is a major problem at Ford.

I agree, and was just going to post that. Which one is it - the backs cool or they don't? And why can't we be consistent in our message to the dealers about this?

Honestly, the lack of cohesiveness and inability to find a solution has stopped me from even taking mine to the dealer yet. I don't want to have them rip apart my seat, only to tell me everything works as intended, or have them replace parts that do no difference (or make it worse, as I don't have the heating seat issue a lot of people have). At this point, I'm just assuming it's a bottom-only cooling seat until I hear Ford has found a solution.
