It seems clear to me after digesting this whole crazy seat issue, that Ford needs to do a total recall on both front seats and replace them with new working models. I'm standing down on getting this TSB done until Ford steps up and delivers a proper fix. I'm starting to hold my breath....now!

But there are no working models!

But you know how to fix it and even have the parts, unlike the rest of us!

Had my fix performed yesterday and picked up my truck in a giant hurry this morning. It's cool out, but I did feel some air from seat back. BUT, the PROBLEM is they sliced the back of my seat. Two separate 1.5" gashes. I guess the technician was hoping I wouldn't notice, I don't know, but that's not a great way to do business. Have a call into my Service rep now, so we'll see how this goes.

Default Seat cuts - what a mess

Seems like they have been inadvertently cutting a lot of seats...that can't be cheap. As I sit here waiting for a return phone call, from either he or the manager over there, I'm starting to simmer over the fact they would try and hide this. Zero chance I wouldn't notice, because I'm a freak when it comes to vehicle care...I used to be a processional car detailing company, so I can't help myself. I sure hope they are able to put a new seat cover on as good as new. Sheez, what a mess this is for Ford.

Just my drivers seat had a slice in it as well as the seam was pulled apart just inside the seatback pocket. Does the slice in your seat look about the same as mine in the same location?

Default Whew...

Good news. The service manager didn't even fight me...they said they'll fix it.

Hopefully they replace the seat covers and not try just a repair.

Ok guys here is the nitty gritty of the TSB fix.

I borrowed a data logger from work tonight and on the ride home which is a 45 min drive I logged the temp between my back and the seat. The sensor can be seen taped to the seat.

Just trying to be brutally honest and use the tools I have.

I feel for everyone, I would be pissed to. Ford did design the seats to be lighter I'm sure, but at a cost. I have a 2012 and would love to see a seat design like this in the new f150s. Ford should redesign these seats and take care of everyone with this issue. Keep on the ford customer service reps on the site and your local dealerships.
