Well, the seat "coolers" have melted my pocket inserts shown above :huh:

Need to come up with a higher temp resistant temporary solution.

Seemed to only help when the outside temp was below 85 degrees anyways.

On a somewhat positive note, I spoke with a different Ford rep yesterday, and echoed our seat cooling concerns. That's 2 different corporate people and 1 dealership, that now has this issue documented.

You know... I saw this post and wondered if you were the same Matrix on AZVJC. Now having seen your AZVJC post about the new truck, I know it's you. Small world! :)

On my 15 Platinum I also noticed the back of the seat gets very hot after you run the ac seats for a while. It gets hot right above the storage pocket on the back. Wish I had a temperature gun to see the temp but its very hot to the touch. Maybe it will melt a few trucks seats for Ford to hurry up and figure out a fix.

I live in Houston and if I leave my truck in the sun for a while and then turn on the AC seat the lumbar area gets hotter and its very uncomfortable.

I drove two new (build dates in June 2015) trucks yesterday and both backs were hot like crazy, bottoms were as expected.

At one point I thought the backs were on heat, it was so hot. I can drive all day without the AC seats on and doesnt bother me. Glad to hear its not in my mind.

I had a potential new ford buyer in my truck last weekend. He has a well used 2012 F150 and is in the market for an upgrade.

He commented that he is going to buy a Chevy or a Dodge after feeling the transmission downshift clunking and seat cooling (err, heating) problems. More precisely, he was amazed at the lack of resolution offered by Ford on either of these matters.

The seat backs got so hot he had to turn off the cooling and sit forward a bit so the cabin AC could cool it off.

I really wanted to get him into a new 2015, but its not looking good. Oh well, maybe by the 2017 model year they will have sorted all the bugs out.

I opened up my seat and found that who ever designed this has their head up their ass...the rubber duct for the cold air was pulled free from the grommet that goes into the seat...the intake and exhaust are 6 inches away from each other inside a closed seat back...like an AC unit in the middle of a room...I reattached the duct and insulated the space where the unit is and vented the exhaust and brought a duct into the intake...done ..works perfect i used 1/16 thermo insulation thats self adhesive on 1 side....and for the hose i used dishwasher over flow hose

I just asked what the ETA is on the resolution on the Ford Truck Facebook page. Perhaps visibility will help with gaining traction.
