Contemplating Bilstien 5100's for your truck?

Honestly, I don't know where you're going with this but, YES, the ride will be "different". Any time you change something, the ride will be different. If you install a decent unit up front, you'll gain better turn-in and cornering. The front units understeer(that feeling that you're going too fast thru a turn causing you to brake and crank the wheel to stay on the road) because the spring is too soft and the damper too wimpy to support the weight of the truck and forces generated by it. They should call it a "F150 Car".

Just thinking out loud here. Isn't the 2014 strut/spring assembly the same as the 2015 on? And I would assume that the spring on the 2o14 is a heavier spring than the 2015. So, would it be possible to use the 2014 spring on the 5100s to properly stiffen the front end up???

hey fellas, Might be a noob question but is the suspension in a '17 Limited the same as say a Lariat? My work truck is a '16 Lariat Sport 4x4 FX4 and it has a noticable difference in ride.
I am thinking about lifting the Limited and putting 35's on it so i can actually drive off a highway with it but dont want to make it a lumber wagon.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks. I assumed the springs were the same size, given the struts were the same but I thought the 2014 would be a heavier (i.e higher spring rate) spring than the lighter 2015

The shock itself may be different for the lighter body, but the mounts should be identical, thats why it took so long for the 14's to hit the market. Wont know unless the part numbers are compared, I know the rears are a different shock even though they looks the same.

Yes, i realize that. Just trying to work out if a 2014 front spring on the 2015 bilsteins would stiffen it up a bit more . And I have the 2014 bilsteins on the rear. Work great ....

Took me about 15 min each side for the rears. I have the factory liners and didn't have to remove the liners, I didn't have to jack up the truck or remove tires. I followed someone else's guidance and took the old shocks off, left the straps on the new shocks, bolted the top in and then pulled the strap from the center outward (compressed the shock) while holding the shock bottom near the bolt hole. It was pretty easy. My old shocks had 7K miles but still took some effort to move back and forth, but not as hard to move back and forth as the 5100s. After riding for about 30 minutes, it's really noticeable that the 2-3 bounces per bump in back are now just one bounce. It doesn't wallow up and down like a boat anymore. I installed the Hellwig when I first bought the truck and let me tell you, I wish that Ford would have offered these options from the factory. This truck rides good now and it feels much more planted on the road. I'm going to have the fronts changed too but that's going to happen at a shop.
